Weekend Fun at Universal Orlando

It is no secret that I can always have fun at Universal Orlando and this weekend was no different. The long weekend gave me a perfect opportunity to take a few hours and escape into the parks.

At Universal Studios, of course the new Springfield remains an instant favorite for me. They continue to add some finishing touches to the new Simpsons expansion which only make it better. The Duff Brewery is a great place to grab a refreshing Duff Beer to break up your day and check out all the construction going up for the Harry Potter expansion (and you will have to try the chicken and waffle sandwich at Cletus’ Chick Shack). Throw in rides on Revenge of the Mummy and Transformers and you’re having a good time.

Over at Islands of Adventure, I couldn’t help heading for the water. It’s always fun to spray water at tourists. Taking a break from the heat, we had a fun battle in the Jurassic Park land. The water cannons inside Camp Jurassic are becoming another favorite of mine. Outnumbered and being sprayed with water from above, we were still able to chase off everyone who attempted to take us on. Find this area if you haven’t explored it already.

And, the best part about grabbing a Duff Beer or shooting the water cannons – no long queues!
