Rolling Roadblocks, Realigning Roads & Updated Closures for I-4 Ultimate
Construction continues to pick up on the 21-mile makeover of I-4 through Orlando known as I-4 Ultimate. Here are the major news and closures for the week of September 13th:
Rolling Roadblocks on September 17th
There will be a rolling roadblock on eastbound I-4 from Par Street to Lee Road on September 17th between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. This could potentially cause delays for early morning commuters and travelers.
Rolling roadblocks are planned to give construction crews the time and space to safely move large equipment on or above the roadway without putting motorists in harm’s way. Drivers should expect delays and take extra precautions for road safety during all rolling roadblocks.
Drivers should also expect more rolling roadblocks throughout the I-4 Ultimate construction.
Keller Road Realignment and Flyover, Pembrook Drive Closure & Maitland Summit Boulevard Flyover
The Florida Department of Transportation is realigning Keller Road at Maitland Boulevard to build a flyover (1). This will also result in Pembrook Drive being disconnected from Keller Road with a new cul-de-sac (2) and retention pond (3) constructed. Similar to the Maitland Boulevard/Keller Road intersection, the Maitland Boulevard/Maitland Summit Boulevard intersection will feature a new flyover (4). A new connection between Keller Road and Southhall Lane is currently under construction and is anticipated to be complete this fall.
