The “Top 10 Scrooges of 2013” list from West Orlando News seems to put all of the principal suspects just where they should be. It’s a great reminder of all the nonsense that went on locally in 2013 and how our elected officials consistently fail the people (which is something people around here tend to forget too quickly).

There are corporate Scrooges like Consulate Health Care and SeaWorld Orlando, as well as elected Scrooges like Congressman Dan Webster, Governor Rick Scott and Tax Collector Scott Randolph on the list this year.

But Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs were the two battling it out for Top Scrooge of 2013. County Commissioner Pete Clarke joined the list for his dirty deeds around the soccer stadium deal and City Commissioner Daisy Lynum (up for re-election this April!) gets called out for what she has done to Parramore on behalf of Dyer. And of course, Bill Sublette and the Orange County School Board made the list for refusing to negotiate with teachers and holding up their well-deserved and overdue pay raises.

Don’t miss this fun and quick recap of the year’s worst Scrooges in Orlando. Find out where they all landed on West Orlando News’ Top 10 Scrooges of 2013!
