Global Business Travel Association Coming to Orlando for 2015 Convention

GBTA conventionThe Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) announced registration is open for the 2015 GBTA Convention in Orlando, set for July 25th-29th. The annual convention is the largest, most comprehensive annual gathering of business travel and meetings managers, meeting planners, procurement professionals and suppliers anywhere in the world.

The 2015 GBTA Convention theme is “#Sharing” to describe today’s business travel environment. “There is no other industry where face-to-face meetings and the concept of sharing is more prevalent than the business travel industry,” the Association stated. “The entire industry will be present to add their unique perspective and find out what #Sharing can do for you, your company and the business travel industry.”

GBTA expects nearly 7,000 industry professionals will participate this year at the Orange County Convention Center. The event has scheduled world-class keynote speakers, more than 80 industry-leading education sessions, the largest business travel expo floor, a wide selection of professional development opportunities. The stated goal is “providing attendees the opportunity to build their careers and get business done.”

GBTA describes itself as “the world’s premier business travel and meetings trade organization” and is headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area with operations on six continents. GBTA’s 7,000-plus members manage more than $345 billion of global business travel and meetings expenditures annually. GBTA and the GBTA Foundation deliver education, events, research, advocacy and media to a growing global network of more than 28,000 travel professionals and 125,000 active contacts.

“Business travel is an ever-evolving and constantly changing profession and together we have the opportunity to share ideas with other professionals, learn to navigate the sharing economy and innovate to achieve shared success,” said Michael W. McCormick, GBTA executive director and COO. “The GBTA Convention has always been a meeting point for the dynamic individuals who make up the business travel industry and this year, like the industry itself, Convention is moving forward fast. We are excited to once again join together business travel professionals from across the industry to share their ideas, inventions, innovations and discoveries.”
